When practised by a properly trained and registered practitioner, clinical hypnotherapy is considered a safe and gentle therapeutic approach. Sessions are client-led, collaborative, and designed to work within your comfort and capacity. You remain aware and in control throughout.

Getting started is simple. Reach out through email (novaholisticstudio@gmail.com) or book a free Clarity Call to discuss your goals and find out more about hypnotherapy.
-
No. Hypnosis is not a state of unconsciousness or mind control. Most people describe it as a deeply relaxed, focused state where they remain aware of their surroundings and able to speak or stop at any time. You cannot be made to do anything that goes against your values or wishes.
-
This varies depending on your goals, history, and the nature of what you’re working with. Some people notice meaningful shifts within a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer, more supportive process. This can be discussed and reviewed as the work unfolds. On Average clients need 6 sessions but as discussed above, this is just an average as everyone’s lived experiences are completely different.

Clinical hypnotherapy is commonly used to support anxiety, stress, emotional regulation, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, confidence, habits, and stress-related physical symptoms. It is particularly helpful when patterns feel automatic or rooted in the nervous system rather than conscious choice.
-
Not at all. Hypnotherapy does not require belief, spirituality, or being easily influenced. Openness, curiosity, and willingness to engage with the process are far more important than suggestibility.
-
Clinical hypnotherapy may not be appropriate, or may require close collaboration with medical or mental health professionals, in certain circumstances. These can include:
Active psychosis or schizophrenia
Certain dissociative disorders where stability has not been established
Severe personality disorders where hypnotherapy is not clinically indicated
Acute crisis states or situations requiring immediate medical or psychiatric care
Some neurological conditions where altered states may be contraindicated
Physical conditions such a a recent heart attack (within the last 24 months)
If you have a diagnosed mental health condition, are under psychiatric care, or are unsure whether hypnotherapy is suitable for you, this can be discussed confidentially before booking. Client safety and ethical practice are always prioritised.
